Show: CHP (California Highway Patrol) San Jose - Motorcycle Open House.
Save A Battery was proud to attend the CHP (California Highway Patrol) San Jose - Motorcycle Open House. With experienced CHP Officers and also a contingent of civilian motorcycle riders we spent the afternoon talking about keeping batteries charged and watching some pretty unbelievable motorcycle riding. This wasn't a speed test but rather an abilities test. Slow Riding and going around cones without falling off isn't something everyone can do. It takes a lot of experience, calm nerves, and training.
Along with the Officers were other booths and vendors that included, Motorcycle Safety Foundation, safety apparel manufacturers, insurance companies, and a host of others that support and encourage "safe riding". It was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon and the Officers made it look easy.
Show: Mille Miglia, San Francisco, CA.
The Gabrielli's have been doing this event every year for over a decade. Coming back every year to renew friendships, talk cars, talk racing, kick tires and enjoy their beauty and pure driving excitement. This year being the 20th Anniversary dictated that our 1926 Bentley be the vehicle to take. This original W.O. Bentley has a history of it's own and was originally owned by one of the original Bentley Boys, Sir Clive Gallop. Since that time this wonderful vehicle has been driven over 500,000 miles! Even better the custodians before us were wonderful enough to simply enjoy the vehicle, take great care of it, and never restore it's cosmetics. It's patina is something to behold, 100 year old horse hair shows in some places where the leather has been worn with age. But don't let that fool you, every instrument, electrical circuit, brake system, and engine are in perfect condition. The best part is starting her up and taking her for a drive. This year we lead the procession out of the Fairmont and even brought a reporter along from the Examiner to show her how much fun and excitement can be had in old cars. Here is the link to what she had to say:
